SNS Asset Management

SNS Asset Management (SNS AM) is a Dutch asset manager for institutional investors. We manage portfolios for pension funds, social organisations, labour unions and other institutional investors. We are also the investment manager for the large investment portfolios of SNS REAAL. SNS AM is known as a specialist in Responsible Investing (RI) based on the People, Planet, Profit principle.

SNS AM has employed the principle of responsible investment since the 1970s.
Our focus is on the European market and we have a cooperation arrangement with Vigeo, a European leading supplier of extra-financial analysis. Furthermore, we have a cooperation arrangement with the Japanese research agency Good Bankers, leading pioneer in RI in Japan, and with KLD Research & Analytics for the US markets.

SNS AM manages individual responsible equity portfolios for several Dutch institutional investors. Additionally, we are the manager for the ASN Bank investment funds. ASN Bank is the largest ethical bank in the Netherlands. We manage among others the ASN Aandelenfonds (Equity Fund), which combines ethical negative screening criteria with stock picks from ethical front-runners. The composition of all the funds complies with the Eurosif Transparency Guidelines.

Next to the large cap RI strategy SNS Asset management has a small-/midcap RI strategy.

This strategy is implemented in the research conducted specifically for the Orange SeNSe Fund (OSF) universe. The OSF is managed actively by Kempen Capital Management.

Responsible Investing criteria can also be applied to fixed income portfolios. SNS AM has developed a method for managing investment portfolios with loans to governments and public authorities as well as to government-related companies. We employ this method in our management of the ASN Obligatiefonds (Fixed Income Fund). We also manage a large responsible fixed income portfolio for an external client.

SNS AM will further invest in the development of expertise, products and services in the area of responsible investing. The latest fund that SNS AM introduced is the SNS Institutional Microfinance Fund (launched early 2007). This is the first institutional fund for microfinance. Currently we are working on a new responsible fixed income fund and a responsible index fund.

SNS AM is a qualified supplier of information with regard to responsible investing. For several clients we carry out portfolio screenings in line with the criteria defined by the client. We also provide consultancy services in the field of Microfinance.
